AXUM, LALIBELA, GONDAR, AND BAHAR DAR
Tour Plan
Be welcomed by your guide on arrival at Addis Abeba Bole international Airport,
and transfer in to your hotel.
Beginning of the tour in Addis Ababa, Morning free (may be exchange money,
when necessary briefing of the itinerary etc and be ready for the tour).
Afternoon, tour of the capital: visit Entoto Mountains with spectacular views
over the capital, the National museum and Trinity church. Overnight Hotel
Tour of Axum: The archaeological and historical attractions in Axum include: the
archaeological museum, monolithic steles or obelisks, the tombs of King Kaleb
and King Gebre Meskal, and the legendary Bath of the Queen of Sheba, and the
ruins of ancient palace of Queen Sheba. You also visit the new and the old
Cathedral of St Mary of Zion and the sanctuary that houses the original Arc of the

Fly to Lalibela, defined as the 8th wonder of the world which is also the main
highlight of this tour, and after noon Visit some of the magnificent Rock Hewn
Churches of Lalibela: Bete Giorgis, Bete Medahne Alem, Bete Meskel, Bete Mariam,
Bete Denagel, Bet Golegota, and Debresina,) O/N hotel
In the morning, have an excursion tour to visit the wonderful Yimrhane chirstos
cave church. Or you can choose to walk or make a mule back ride to the hill top
semi monolithic church of Asheton Mariam (13th Century AD). The peak of the hill
offers a wonderful viewpoint to have a bird eye view of the surrounding area
including the town of Lalibela, and in the afternoon Visit the rest of the churches
in the town ,( Bete Gebriel-rufael, Bete merkorewos, Betelehem, Bete Emanuael
and Bete Aba Libanos)and enjoy a typical Ethiopian coffee ceremony at the late

Fly to Gondar, transfer & check in at your hotel. Afternoon tour of Gondar,
visiting the castle’s compound & King Fasiladas bath, Debre Birhan Sellasie
church (light of Trinity) with wonderful murals, Qusquam monastery, Empress
Mentewab palace and if time permits the Falashia village too. O/N best available

Morning after breakfast, drive to Bahirdar with very nice views of Amhara people
village. Afternoon boat trip on Lake Tana to admire the beautiful monasteries
over the lake’s islands, as Asua Mariam and Ura Kidane Mehret, with also the visit
of an Amhara people village & coffee plantations. O/N Hotel
Morning visit the Blue Nile falls or City tour of Bahir Dar with nice view to lake
Tana from the top location of Bezait palace. Afternoons fly to Addis Ababa and if
time permits visit the Merkato, biggest open air market in Africa. Evening will be
traditional dinner with folkloristic dances as a Farwell night party. Evening or
